If everyone is still playing Planetside 2 I'd be down to redownload it. I have loved planetside when i started playing. I have however started on the TR. Anyways if everyone is playing on NC i don't mind heading over there. Anyways I usually only play an infiltrator as I completely destroy at it. So what guns are worth getting?

It depends on how you like to fight, at long or close range?

I can do either once i get my hands on a decent sub machine gun. My stats are already up for my first 2 hours of play as NC http://planetside2stats.com/character?name=Echoech&namespace=ps2ps4us granted the starting sniper is not bad at all.
Long range the rail Jack is stupid it's got a small charge time but it hits so hard it hurts the players dog even if they don't have one plus full damage at 400 meters...ummm ouch it's also the only true rail gun the NC has

Close range...the cyclone fires so fast it's higher than tr and has higher damage it even can ruin a maxes day.

I don't want to spam the forums with questions so I decided to rather put it here. I'm a semi new player and I was wondering what you guys think the best gun for the Combat Medic and the Heavy Assault are? Thanks in advance guys.

I don't know how experienced you are overall Echo, so forgive me if I ramble on with bs you already know, or if I gloss over things where you want more detail.. It helps me fill the afternoon.

At BR 7 there are probably more important things than new guns, but if it is guns you shall have, the VR room is now up for you to try all of them. The Cyclone is usually considered one of, if not the best smg in the game. 167 damage tier 652 rpm. A proud NC smg. The Blitz is more like a TR gun; lower damage bullet hose, but still good. Some people love the NS smgs too.

The SAS-R (TSAR equivalent) can be absolutely killer at any range from 0-200 yards once you get used to it. Close range bolt action with extremely short chamber time, no scope sway, one hit kill headshot/two body shot out to ~200 yards. Probably my favorite gun in the game. I tend to use it like a squad DMR rather than a pure sniper. Look up Elusiveone on Youtube for what it can be at full potential.

I personally don't really like sniping much beyond 200, but when I do I like the LA80 because it's a good balance of range/velocity/chamber time. The Bolt driver and Longshot are also good. With the traditional long range bolt actions it's more a matter of preference. The Railjack I never used much since it fills a niche I don't find very useful.

The long range semi-auto sniper I never used, and from what I understand it isn't worth using. The ones that have been used by the enemy sure haven't impressed me. The short range one, the Impetus, I used like a heavy scout rifle. As for actual scouts, consensus says the Vandal (NS semi auto) is awesome. The Stalker (full auto) is good. I thought of it as an smg with more reach.

Side arms should definitely wait till you've got extra certs. You can't go wrong with the Commissioner. Underboss is like a spammier closer range Commie. People tend to like the Desperado (burst fire) too. I'm using the Rebel and am comfortable with it. Blackhand can give you range if you're using an smg. The crossbow is fun for certain specialty uses. There really aren't many totally bad guns in the game, or many guns that are just obvious good choices for every situation.

I don't think I bought a second gun until after I'd nearly auraxed my bolt-driver. Though, if you're going close range, you might need one earlier. Cloak, mines, emps, bandolier, passive hack upgrade, and especially motion spotter came first for me. Some people go recon darts, or swap between them, but personally I prefer the motion spotter. Either way, intelligence is the heart of infiltrator teamplay (not to mention personal survival) for me. Showing where the enemy is with your recon tools, and killing theirs. Nothing quite irritates me like seeing a dozen infiltrators in a base and no spotter.

The only reason i'm after guns is because i do need an smg. In regards to a sniper i can use the starting one for now but I may want to go for shorter and longer distance options later. Anyways the replies helped immensely. I only knew TR stuff for the longest time. With the right build I can even ninja take a base.

For you Butt, If I could only pick one assault rifle for myself, I'd probably take the Gauss Burst. Extremely accurate ads gun that I intend to get better with once I've finished getting the Gauss Prime. I struggled with it CQC, but with practice was improving. The hip fire on it is pretty bad.

For a recommendation of the best overall to give someone else, of those I've used (all but the Gauss S and the Carnage), I'd say the Reaper. A good gun at any range. CQC it doesn't feel like a death sentence, medium range it kills, and it's still very effective at long range. The other day I counter-sniped a guy with it at 278 meters using the iron sights. It's a pretty big hole in my knowledge to have not used the Carnage, since it is supposed to be one of our best close - medium range guns.

I know next to nothing about heavies relative to some of our guys.

For heavy, just cert up the gauss saw, beastly weapon. Put a compensator and foregrip, no high velocity ammo. Learn to burst about 2-5 rounds and it will destroy. After that their are more important things than guns for killing infrantry. A g2a launcher is nice, so are med kits. The overshield is a essential upgrade as well. I would also put some points in a suit slot that increases surviability, such as nanoweave.

If you really do want a new gun butt, I would grab the gd ss or anchor. Both are pretty powerful at close range and good at medium. Jackhammer for close range is also fun, has better range than most shotties. I found that the em6 and gauss saw s are better all rounders, but its better to use a specialised gunbif you know the range.

Thanks West and Grey. I will definitely try out the Gauss Burst.

I've actually already been running that exact setup of Gauss Saw, so im glad I've already been certing that up. I tried the GD SS and never really liked it, but I might just have to try it again. I'm so used to the Gauss Saw's bursts just mowing everyone down.

I mainly use the em6 it's not bad at anything and I like it quite a bit. I strongly recommend it as it will let you choose your range
Every now and then I put it on single fire and use it like a big battle rifle at medium range
